THE MARMARA FESTİVAL
Started off as an underwater visualization competition under the name of “The Living Marmara - Despite All” in 1993, the festival has had an international configuration since 2000 by inviting many international jury members and competitors.

The aim of the festival is to attract attention to the pollution in the Marmara Sea, to create awareness in the society and to present the underwater beauties of our country besides its beauties aboveground.

To introduce and always to remind the Marmara Sea to a wide range of people the most Professional eyes of Turkey go deep Marmara and catch the best views in competition for the eyes that cannot ever go there. The life under the Marmara Sea is viewed in the most aesthetic way by the best artists in Turkey in a competition as part of the Festival. It aims to introduce the secret life under the Marmara Sea and to demonstrate the unseen and the supposedly absent. The festival has two major sections, first one consisting of the pre-shot photographs; second one being the “vision hunt” at Marmara Sea. This competition is categorized as slide, digital, digital specification, macro, wide angle, portfolio, amateur video and professional video, which are evaluated by the most well-known underwater photographers and videographers in Turkey and in the world. Activities for kids are also organized during the Festival aiming to inspire the awareness to protect nature and the love for the sea.
